Natural timber characteristics

Siberian larch is valued for its dense grain, strength and suitability for external use. Natural variation in colour and grain should be expected. If left untreated, the timber will gradually weather to a silver-grey tone. A suitable exterior finish can be applied and maintained if you wish to retain more of the original colour.

Installation guidance

Use suitable exterior-grade fixings for the application. Stainless steel screws are commonly chosen for larch, and pre-drilling may help reduce the risk of splitting near the ends. Allow for natural timber movement when planning gaps and fixing positions.
