Treatex Grey Cedar Oil 2.5L gives cedar and larch a weathered grey appearance while helping protect the timber against UV rays and water. It enhances the wood’s character, creating the naturally greyed effect of aged cedar.
This penetrating wood finish is suitable for internal and external use. It provides protection without forming a surface coating that flakes or peels.
Suitable timbers and applications
Recommended for cedar and larch, Treatex Grey Cedar Oil is ideal for cladding, windows and doors. It can also be used on suitable wooden garden furniture.
Not suitable for timbers with a high tannin content, such as oak.
Coverage
A 2.5-litre tin covers approximately 35m² with one coat, depending on the timber and application method. Allow approximately 17.5m² per tin for two coats. Actual consumption will vary with the surface.
Preparation
For best results, apply to unfinished timber. The surface must be dry and free from algae, grease, dirt and dust. Remove paint and other coatings that prevent the oil penetrating. Test compatibility before applying over an existing porous finish.
Application
Stir thoroughly before and during use. Apply evenly with a brush or roller, following the wood grain and paying particular attention to the end grain.
Always test a small area to check the colour and follow the manufacturer’s current application instructions. When using several tins for one project, mix them together before application for colour consistency.
Pack size: 2.5 litres.
