Planning the layout

Confirm the finished gap, support positions and required quantity before ordering. Include an allowance for cutting and the natural variation found in timber.

Natural timber appearance

Canadian red cedar is a natural material, so variations in colour, grain and knots should be expected. If left untreated outdoors, the surface will gradually weather and change colour. A compatible exterior timber finish can be applied and maintained if you prefer to retain more of the original tone.

Installation guidance

Store the timber flat, dry and supported before installation. Use exterior-grade fixings compatible with the timber, pre-drill near board ends where necessary and allow suitable spacing, ventilation and movement for the intended application. The supporting frame, fixing centres and method must suit the finished structure and site exposure.
