Hersden Canadian red cedar slatted gate

This handmade pedestrian gate uses square-edge Canadian red cedar battens to create clean contemporary lines. The slatted layout coordinates particularly well with horizontal fencing and natural-timber screening.

Screening and spacing

The slatted design allows some light and airflow through the gate. The final level of screening will depend on the batten spacing, viewing distance and angle.

Natural cedar timber

Cedar has a warm colour and distinctive grain. Variations in colour, grain and knots should be expected. If left untreated outdoors, the timber will gradually weather to a silver-grey tone. A suitable exterior finish can be applied and maintained if you prefer to retain more of the original colour.

Before ordering

Measure the finished opening carefully and allow for the gate posts, hinges, latch and the clearances required by your chosen fitting method. Confirm the finished gate size rather than relying only on the opening measurement. Contact us if you need help with a bespoke size.

The supporting posts, hinges, latch, fixings and installation method must be suitable for the gate size, weight and intended use. Seek advice from a competent installer if you are unsure.
